English Language Student Holidays

WE ARE NOT TAKING STUDENTS FOR 2022

Improve your English Language in Dingle

Burnham Riding Centre provide an environment which enables the horse loving teenager and young riders to improve their English language skills through Equestrian Programmes and Holidays in a friendly and homely environment.Beginners quickly become confident , novice riders make rapid progress and intermediates are encouraged to reach their personal goals and targets.Our young guests also get to make new friends , enjoy safe independence away from home and of course have fun. 

English Horse Riding Holidays  

Option 1 Confidence Building &  Leisure Riders 

Following assessment students will follow a progressive programme that will be taught at a level the group each week are comfortable with to ensure that students will have improved their riding, knowledge and horsemanship skills to a confident level while having broaden their use of their English Language. 

Arrive Sunday evening  ( no extra charge ) after 6.30 pm or  Monday morning  9 am - 9.30 am depart at 6 pm Friday evening. 

Days can vary slightly due to trekking and our show schedule with students however this will give students a idea of our daily routine.

Mornings

Breakfast at 8 am driving to the yard at 8.30 / 9.30 am then students will do morning Stable Duties / Management followed by  Flat Work / Dressage Lesson / pratice sessions.1- 1.5 hrs  

Lunch Break

Afternoons

Jumping lesson , X country ,  Competitions  at centre or Trekking 2 - 2.5 hrs 

Evenings are free time to watch movie , beach , surf , trips to cinema. 

Sundays are free day if students are staying weekends. 

Suitable for Beginner Novice N. Intermediate  & Intermediate Riders 

Option 2 Intensive & Competition Riders 

These programmes are aimed at the more advanced rider and horse owners and those who are looking to competiting in Ireland. 

 Daily routine is the same as Option 1 however riding classes are adapted to suit and Sundays are competition days at Local and National Shows if requested by students ( this is not included in price )   

Suitable for Intermediate &  Advanced Riders.

Accommodation

Accommodation is provided in family home off site on a full board basis. Students are treated as part of the family during their stay.Bedrooms are 4 per room or a private room can is also available. 

Awards & Shows

Unaffiliated Showjumping / Dressage Show with a prize giving held at the end of each week; students will be awarded with a Certificate of Achievement as part of their riding programme/ holiday.  

Transport

Airport / Train transport can be arranged on request.

Afternoon & Evening Activities

Local activities such as  kayaking in Dingle Bay , Climbing Wall , Surfing , Hill walking ,  Trips to Fungi ( the dingle dolphin )  and the Cinema are arranged by request.  Prices are not included in Holidays prices so pocket money will be required.

  • Riding Boots / Chaps  - short or long ( runners are not permitted )

  • Body Protector - to current standards  NOT AVAILABLE FROM THE CENTRE 
  • Riding Helmet - to current standards or you can borrow one from the centre

  • Jodhpurs or Breeches

  • T-shirts long and short sleeves

  • Rain Jacket

  • Warm Jumper or Fleece
